Join your hiking pals for a moderate-paced hike to the Observation Tower at Frozen Head State Park.
Distance: 9.5 miles--Moderate to Strenuous for distance and elevation.

Meetup: Hardees at exit 300 Monterey approx. 7:30am. Central. We will be joined by hikers from Nashville. We will go in convoy on Tn-62 thru Clark Range and Lancing to Wartburg.

Beginning at the trail-head parking lot(elevation of 1340ft) at 9am Central we'll take Spicewood Trail, 2.5 miles, the Chimney Top trail for 1.1 mile then 1/2 mile on the steep gravel Tower trail for lunch at the Observation Tower at 3374 ft elevation.
There's a 360 degree view of the mountains and surrounding area. Bring your camera!
We will head back down on the Lookout Tower Trail 3/4 mile to the North Old Mac trail 3.6 miles to the parking lot.
Post-hike supper at Partners Pizza in Wartburg. (cash only no plastic)
Optional brief stop at Hammers Store in Wartburg.
Optional brief stop at Lilly Pad Hopyard Brewery in Lancing.
Please offer your carpool driver $10 to $15 cash money for gas, vehicle usage, and driving services. Please be willing to volunteer your vehicle and/drive. No pets please.

Directions: I-40 East to exit 300 Monterey. Turn left under freeway to second traffic light just past the RR tracks.
Right on TN-62 thru Monterey, Clark Range, Lancing and Wartburg, turning left onto Flat Fork Rd. Continue past the prison to the trailhead just past the Visitors Center.
