• Let's Talk About SwiftUI and MVVM

    Online event

    Dear fellow Cocoa peeps. ✨

Hope you are all fine and well.

It is time for another Copenhagen Cocoa event and this time we will try out a slightly different format compared to past events, or rather a mix of things we have done in the past.

Think 'Themed' combination of the usual 'Talk' and 'Peer Lab' formats or simply a 'Talk' with and an extended Q&A session turned into a discussion and exchange of ideas and experiences.

Community member Per Friis came up with the idea of doing a brief talk on SwiftUI and MVVM serving as a conversation starter. Hence, while there will be a talk, it will not be an event based purely on a couple of talks with Q&As. Instead there will be a brief talk on the topic of SwiftUI and MVVM and then the idea is that we use this presentation to get a conversation started on exchanging different takes and experiences on the topic.

The planned schedule is as follows:

    19:00 Welcome

19:05 "Let's Talk SwiftUI & MVVM" by Per Friis

19:30 Open discussion on the topic of SwiftUI and MVVM

We will continue the discussions for as long as people want so no scheduled closing time as such.

Hope you are up for giving this a go, so please join us for another online Copenhagen Cocoa event.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

  • Copenhagen Cocoa - Show Me Your Xcode Project/Workspace

    Online event

    Dear fellow Cocoa peeps. ✨

First of all a belated Happy New Year. Hope 2021 has been treating you well so far and that you are all safe and sound.

It is time for another Copenhagen Cocoa event and this time we will focus on a topic that has typically not been at the center of talks and presentations we have had in the past.

As developers we are good at showing off our apps and code. But why so rarely our Xcode projects/workspaces? How do you organise your projects? How do you deal with your dependencies? Have you started using Swift Package Manager yet? What about binary frameworks? What are the Xcode 'secrets' you rely on?

Community members Anders (aka Mr. Palmin) and Joachim (aka Mr. Bondo) will present each their projects, and we hope this could be the start of an ongoing relay where the baton will be picked up by other fellow developers in our community.

The planned schedule is as follows:

    19:00 Welcome

19:10 "Secure ShellFish: Dependency hell with CMake" by Anders Borum

20:00 "Deep Green: A project over more than a decade" by Joachim Bondo

    20:45 Closing remarks

We wish to make plenty of room for Q&A so the above schedule is somewhat tentative except for the starting time ;o)

So please join us for another online Copenhagen Cocoa event.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

  • Copenhagen Cocoa - Cross Nordic Edition✨

    Online event

    Dear fellow Cocoa peeps. ✨

Long time no see. We know it has been rather quiet in the community during the past months of pandemic, but we hope you are all safe and sound.

The good news is that Xmas comes early this year as we are excited to invite you to our first remote Cocoa event.

Our very own community member Joachim Bondo has been busy organizing a speaker line up in celebration of Shortcut and Greener Pastures in Copenhagen merging with Shortcut in Norway.
This also means that this will be our first Cross Nordic event as CocoaHeads Oslo will join in on the fun as well.

The line-up includes special guest Chris Eidhof, who is kind enough to give a talk about the SwiftUI Layout System.
Two additional talks will be given by Shortcut staff in Copenhagen and Norway respectively.

A big thanks to Joachim Bondo for organizing and making this event happen 👏

The planned schedule is as follows:

    18:00 Welcome

18:10 "Combine in Practice" by Shortcut Denmark

~18:50 "Introduction to Handoff" by Shortcut Norway

~19:30 "The SwiftUI Layout System" by Chris Eidhof

    ~20:20 Closing remarks

Looking forward to seeing you all!

    PS:
We still don't know when it will be feasible to arrange Cocoa events in real life, but we can't wait to get back to mingling in person, eating together and enjoying informative talks face to face once again.

Until then - take good care of yourself, each other and stay safe. We will be back as soon as possible.

    PPS:

  • Peer Lab - 2020, 2nd Event

    Jayway

It's time for the 2nd Peer Lab Event of the year.

Come and join the fun - socialising with fellow community members.

Join other developers for a social and peer-based collaborative learning lab. You've got a question? Maybe someone can provide you with some insight. Maybe you can help someone else with their questions. Bring a laptop and some code to work on.

Also - feel free to pass on suggestions for topics to be discussed. As mentioned it can be something you already have experience with. It might also be something you know very little about and would like some of the other participants to provide some help and advice. You can make the suggestions as comments to this Meetup invite or via our Slack 'Peer Lab' channel.

Among the received suggestions we can see what topics makes the most sense to dive into based on the actual participants, their interests and experiences. Ideally we can take on a couple of topics, after which we will still have time for casual discussions and socializing.

In case the timing conflicts with your dinner time please feel free to bring a sandwich or what you might prefer. Water, coffee, tea and soda will be available so no need to worry about bringing beverages.
