  • Last lean meetup
Back to square one. This meetup will be like our first one. No stage show. No stars. No agenda. We meet casually at a bar (Din Nye Ven) at 5 pm over beers. We discuss the current state of growth hacking and lean. We explore how we can build on this community in a meaningful way! If you have aspects of your BM, where you seek validation, we'll facilitate a short session, too. Looking forward to see you!

  • "From Running Lean to Scaling Lean" talk w/ Ash Maurya (Skype)
"From Running Lean to Scaling Lean" talk in Copenhagen, presented by Ash Maurya, author of Running Lean and creator of Lean Canvas (we had Ash over in Copenhagen in 2014). This is a paid event and you'll receive a free hardcopy of Ash Maurya's new book "Scaling Lean (https://leanstack.com/scaling-lean-book/)". Please sign up for the event here (https://www.picatic.com/scaling-lean-copenhagen). Here's what Ash writes: "Whether it's getting the green light on a new venture, or securing an additional round of funding, entrepreneurs are constantly faced with the challenge of demonstrating progress to their stakeholders. The term stakeholder is loosely defined here to include anyone with a vested interest in your business idea. This could be an investor, corporate sponsor, spouse - even yourself. Remember that while ideas are cheap, acting on them can consume years of your life. Up until now, we have typically relied on two measures of progress: how much stuff we're building and how much money we are making. Both of these are unreliable proxies of progress that can lead us down the wrong path of building something nobody wants. In this talk, you’ll learn how to focus on a single metric that all stakeholders want - aka TRACTION. Further, you’ll learn how to use this metric to build a traction model, and identify the bottlenecks or constraints holding you back. For those already familiar with Running Lean (not a prerequisite to attend): The big epiphany in Running Lean was viewing your business model (not your solution) as the product. This talk will focus on how you measure the output of a working business model through additional thinking processes like the Theory of Constraints, Jobs-to-be-done, and Systems thinking. This talk previews content from my upcoming next book: Scaling Lean. You'll receive a hardcopy of the book when it comes out in June." Advance praise for Scaling lean: Seth Godin, Author of Linchpin "A smart book for smart founders who seek to make an impact. It will forever change the way you see your project." Brad Feld, Foundry Group "A practical field guide to smarter decision-making at the early stages of a business."

  • Exponential Organizations (ExO) w/ Kris Østergaard
We're excited to kick-off 2016 with Kris Østergaard (DARE2), who will hold an intro evening with group sessions on Exponential Organizations. The event will be in English. Why new organizations are 10 times better, faster, and cheaper – and how your company can be too! "EXPONENTIAL ORGANIZATIONS should be required reading for anyone interested in the ways exponential technologies are reinventing best practices in business.”—Ray Kurzweil, Director of Engineering at Google Not long ago, it took 20 years to make a billion dollar company. The new communication platform Slack did it in 8 months. Airbnb and Uber have reached 20 and 50 billion dollar valuations respectively in just 5 years putting the hospitality and transportation industry into panic mode. This breed of companies is not isolated to Silicon Valley. Danish startups such as Zendesk, Trustpilot, Universal Robots, Endomondo, and BeMyEyes have also gained huge traction in a relatively short amount of time. So, what is it that they are all doing right? The answer is that they are all exponential organizations or ExOs. ExOs have a sling of characteristics that make them grow ten times faster than their competitors. Now you can learn to use the same characteristics – before your competitors do – with a cutting edge session that focuses directly on enlightening and developing the exponential aspects of your business. Kris translated the book by Samil Ismail into Danish and is THE Danish ExO-expert. He is also one of the brains (together with Laila) behind DARE2, DARE2Mansion, thinkubator and many other awesome projects. You can follow Kris on twitter over at @KrisOestergaard (https://twitter.com/KrisOestergaard). You can find the book in English (https://www.saxo.com/dk/exponential-organizations_salim-ismailmichael-s-maloneyuri-van-geest_paperback_9781626814233) and Danish (https://www.saxo.com/dk/eksponentielle-organisationer_salim-ismail_paperback_9788740906745). Doors open at 17:00. Agenda 17:15 - Welcome & get to know 17:30 - Exponential Organisations 18:15 - Reflection groups 18.45 - Discussion, open talk & networking *** Hashtag: #LeanCPH *** You wan't to present a MVP or other lean startup related things at the meetup? • "Lean Legal for Startups?" w/ Martin von Haller
Every startup comes in touch with law - whether in form of incorporation, employment contracts, IP, marketing, terms of service or contracts with clients. In recent years, more and more startups are working in highly-regulated industries and try to disrupt them (Uber in the cab market, Airbnb in the hospitality sphere etc). In this meetup Martin von Haller Grønbæk will discover with us how/whether legal work can be approached lean. 19:00-19:45 - Presentation by Martin von Haller 19:45-20:00 - Q&A 21:00-20:30 - Networking About Martin (https://twitter.com/vonhaller) (@vonhaller): Martin spends a considerable portion of my time and energy on advising on legal and commercial issues related to open licensing within open source, creative commons (open content), open data, open APIs and so one. He serves on a number of boards of eCommerce and IT or web companies and has been a key player in the Danish startup scene both as a founder of and adviser to startups and as founder, mentor and activist.
