Hopes, Fears and Silver Linings (Free Virtual Meetup)

Online event

At our Meetup, we’ll be exploring how our hopes and fears in this time of rising anxiety. None of us knows exactly what the summer will bring - it may be a time of action, inspiration and positivity, or perhaps a time of sadness and loss, but one thing is for sure, it won’t be the summer most of us were thinking of and planning for. We’ll also explore what Covid-19 has taught us, about ourselves and our relationships, and how we really want to live our lives, and what’s stopping us from living the way we want. We’ll take a look at silver linings, the ones we’re supposed to find when times are bad. But in fact, it’s our choices, our thoughts, our activities that create the silver linings. For instance, we cannot control Covid-19, but we can create silver linings, bright spots, and sparks of happiness in our choices, our thoughts and our activities. Think of people spontaneously singing opera on their balconies, or someone in an apartment building leaving a bucket of roses in the lobby with a sign “Take one and smile.” The pandemic has not brought silver linings, we have created those silver linings ourselves and in this Meetup, we’ll explore how to do this and create a joyous, healthy relationship to life. Remember, Living Big is not about what you have, it’s about what you share. With Joy, Suzanne Kyra and Hazel Postma

Finding the Hero in All of Us (Virtual Meetup)

Online event

CA$20.00

For many weeks, we’ve been banging our pots each evening to recognize our frontline workers as heroes, but imagine if we did it for ourselves - if we acknowledge ourselves for who we are, for our hearts and our actions? What would this feel like? When we acknowledge others, we feel we are being good citizens, yet when we acknowledge ourselves we begin to feel self-conscious, perhaps a little arrogant, and we ask ourselves “who do we think we are?” Yet when we deny our talents, our strengths, our skills and our love, we minimize ourselves. At this Meetup we’ll look at the difference between those who acknowledge themselves and those who don’t. People who acknowledge themselves are generous in acknowledging others - while those who don’t can become bitter and isolated. Together, we’ll explore what it means to find the hero in ourselves. Remember, Living Big is not about what you have, it’s about what you share. With Joy, Suzanne Kyra, Hazel Postma

Anxiety, Intuition, and Instinct (Virtual Meetup)

Online event

CA$20.00

Fear, stress and anxiety have their private dance and are significantly more present during this pandemic yet there are healthy and effective things you can do to counteract the heightened activation in the amygdala. At our Meetup, we’ll discuss how to calm the brain and how to sense and trust all your senses, and develop a stronger intuition in what is good for you and what is not good for you. Here is where our instinct development enters the bigger picture. An instinct is an innate knowing of what is okay and what is not okay. Living with a developed instinct is living mindfully and freely, melting the dance of fear, stress and anxiety. Bring your pens and paper and deep curiosity for how to set a new course on empowering your inner life and how to weave instinct into every aspect of your life. Remember, Living Big is not about what you have, it’s about what you share. With Joy, Suzanne Kyra, Hazel Postma

Stress With Wisdom (Virtual Meetup)

Online event

CA$20.00

Stress is present in all our lives. The more pressures or demands we have from past, present or future experiences, the greater the stressors on our bodies, including our hearts and brains. The current stress triggers in our world are many and varied and we need to be wise in how we care for ourselves. Wisdom is about making big picture choices, it’s about making good, healthy choices, choices that consider the humanity of every situation, now and in the future. We know that while some stress is healthy, when the stress turns into distress it can be crippling. Faced with too much stress we begin to avoid our responsibilities, ignore what and who we love and begin to be filled with fears. We become frozen. What we need and require is more self-nurturance. Here wisdom enters the picture and we jump over our fears and enter the world of the wise. Remember, Living Big is not about what you have, it’s about what you share.
