What: FandomU event this Wednesday 3/17 at Georgia Tech

When: Wednesday, March 17,[masked]:00 PM

Where:
Georgia Tech - Ferst Center
Georgia Tech Campus
Atlanta, GA 30318

This is an email I received from Christopher Stuckey - MomoCon Chairman. it is an invitation to attend a FandomU event at Georgia Tech March 17th. in full Cosplay attire. Georgia Public Broadcasting will be there airing the event live. The event is free and they want to get as many Cosplayers as they can attend. Please read the info below. This was the email I received:

Hello Momo-Fans!

Are you excited yet? MomoCon is only a week away!

We are really excited here as well. As the other MomoCon staff and I prepare
for the main event, I also have personal event this Wednesday night, the 17th,
that I am preparing for. FandomU, the event site that you registered to MomoCon
through, is in an invention competition, with first place getting $15,000, and
you all are invited to come, cosplay, and cheer!

The competition FandomU is entered in, the InventurePrize, will take place with
a 6:30PM check-in at the Ferst Center theater on the Georgia Tech campus (this
is the building next to the building MomoCon takes place in). While not a
requirement to attend, Georgia Public Broadcasting, who will be airing the
event live on TV and the internet, would love to have crowd shots with
cosplayers in attendance. Think of this as your chance to be aired on TV
displaying your passion for anime!

There is no cost to attend the event, but you must register for tickets on this
website: https://inventureprize.gatech.edu/tickets

If you are unable to attend the event in person, it will be put up on the
Georgia Public Broadcasting website http://www.gpb.org/inventure and stream
live. It is my understanding that FandomU will be featured around 8PM.
Immediately after I leave the stage, there will be the opportunity to
text-in-vote for your favorite invention, with the winner of the text-voting
getting a $5000 prize!

If you are reading this and wondering why an event registration system is vying
for an invention prize, you may not know that FandomU?s goal is to be a place
to gather fans together after conventions are over and allow fans to share
their passion all year around. My biggest challenge to win first place in the
competition is to prove #1 there are actually a lot of anime fans out there
(hence the need for cosplayers in the audience) and #2 that they actually want
to share their passion for anime with one another. If this sounds like it might
be interesting to you, watch the competition and text-in-vote to support, or
show your passion to the rest of the world, because there is nothing more I
would want to do with the prize money then use it to further develop FandomU
for all you passionate fans.

On that note, if you have PHP development skills, and would like to contribute
to the development of FandomU, send me an e-mail, and we will talk about what
you might be able to do to help.

Thank you all for your support of MomoCon and of FandomU, and hopefully I will
see you all March 17th and 20th!
