  • Meetup # 1 : Couchbase Architecture and Scalability

What makes Couchbase one of the fastest NoSQL databases around? and how can we scale out Couchbase to serve millions of users? How can we install and configure Couchbase across multiple data-centers? We will dive into Couchbase and answer all these questions with a detailed explanation and a live demo. Couchbase is without any doubt one of the most powerful and scalable NoSQL databases around. We will begin by looking briefly at some case studies such as Linked-in, Viber and Paypal. I will then show you the Couchbase architecture and how it works internally. In the final part of the presentation, we look at how to design a Couchbase architecture across multiple data centers or availability zones. We will look at XDCR in detail and how to configure uni-directional and bi-directional replication. This will be a really exciting presentation and I hope to see you all there! Speaker: Karthik Sekar: Karthik is a Solutions Architect, part of Worldwide Field Operations at Couchbase and has over 14 years of total experience and over 5 years of expertise in Big Data and NoSQL technologies, Cloud and Distributed computing platforms, experience in setting up, configuring, securing, tuning multi petabyte Hadoop clusters and architecting and delivering large NoSQL database solutions on Couchbase & Cassandra.
