Robotics For Biohacking

Details

• What we'll do
This is Counter Cultures Labs's biweekly meetup to talk about and work on robotics for biohacking.

Our current main project is rehabilitating CCL's custom OpenTrons liquid handling robot. This unit is the largest OpenTrons robot in the world, and was built to pipette liquids, run PCR, and even pick colonies from plates using machine vision! Unfortunately, there were a few bumps along the road when it was donated to the lab, and now it needs a little TLC before it's back in action. There's plenty to do for both hardware and software - and since it's a custom robot, if we can figure out how to rig up a new feature, there's no reason we can't make the robot do it.

This is an ongoing project, so most meetups we jump in and work hands-on with the robot right away. Still, we absolutely welcome people new to the project, and people new to robotics and/or biology in general. It's fun!

• What to bring
Enthusiasm for robots.

• Important to know
This isn't a super formal meeting, so feel free to arrive late or leave early if you have another obligation.
