Journaling--the act of recording your thoughts, images, hopes, concerns and then exploring them. Used in meditation or mindfulness exercises, journaling is at once an experience in exploration and revelation. Seasoned journalers who have taken this workshop were thrilled to be guided in fresh new ways, and brand new journalers found it a safe and empowering experience. No judgments and no fear! We'll start with some directed activities that last just two minutes each, then stretch ourselves with a couple of longer ones. This will be your safe time--no sharing expected. You'll leave at the end of the workshop with a list of "prompts" you can use to keep journaling on our own. If you can and wish to, give yourself a bound journal and good pen that make you smile. The place you record your thoughts matters!
Jeri Mortimore has been meditating for about four years and journaling for about forty-four. Trained as a counselor and raised in a Christian faith tradition, she understands that reflective writing can both heal a wounded soul and guide a questioning heart. A mother of two adult daughters and two adorably perfect grandsons, Jeri is a writer by temperament and earns her living fundraising for a behavioral health treatment center in Washington State. A few months away from retirement, Jeri's journal entries these days show how excited she is about what's just around the corner.
