Person Centered Expressive Arts is a movement cocreated by the late Natalie and Carl Rogers ,father and daughter, who were experienced mental health clinicians that discovered through research and first hand experience that feelings worked through in a loving unconditional nonjudgemental environment with the use of all art forms could thereby transform a person's outlook on themselves, their current situation , and the world.
This group aims to connect people with one another and establish a safe space for feelings to be expressed and transformed. It is a group to support empowerment, not a psychotherapy group. With gentle guidance and activities offered, we will connect, explore and transform feelings through creativity.
2. This group is ideal for those who :
are in transition grieving overwhelmed isolated and desire community want a guidance and have a desire to express feelings using creativity
3. At this group's events, we will be coming together virtually using Zoom to experience a safe structured guided space to explore feelings using the materials we have on hand in our own homes, and our own bodies for movement ( with the capacity we each have)
Many offerings including :
recorded music to move to guided movement and meditation, guided visualization
along with guidance and offerings of :
painting pastels collage drawing writing
all for the purpose of expressing and transforming emotion
