Hi Families! Welcome to Creative Learners! We are excited to meet you and your little one(s) soon. This group is all about learning-based activities. Although lots of fun and friendships will occur, it is not structured as a playgroup. Sessions will be held several times a week starting in fall 2016 and you must RSVP at least 3 days ahead of the session to ensure materials are prepped for each child. (Please RSVP +1 if you have 2 children participating; +2 if you have 3 children.)
The sessions are best suited for kiddos aged 2-6. Adults will need to stay and assist their little one(s) with completing the guided activities. Sessions will be held at either Maitland Community Park or Orlando Fashion Square Mall in their inside, air-conditioned community rooms. Most Tuesday sessions will be in Maitland and most Wednesday sessions will be at OFS. Each day is broken down into two sessions: 10a-11a and 11a-12p. Please pick the time best for your family - each will be an exact replica so you won't be missing anything by picking one or the other! Details about the sessions will be posted 2-3 weeks ahead of time as the content is built out.
Sessions will be comprehensive and inclusive of all 5 areas of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math), and you will see a value for your money. Topics will include things like: life cycles, literature integration, sensory-based, our world (weather, planets), and tons more!
Minimum of 4 children per session; max of 10! And yes, it's ok for anybody to bring your little one(s) - moms, dads, aunts, grandmas, nannies, helpers, etc. If you're bringing a smaller child that won't be participating, let us know in the comments and we'll make sure and pack a sensory bucket, play-dough, or something else that can keep them busy for a bit if needed.
***All abilities welcome!***
Diana Bjorkman Wade, Ph.D. will be teaching the pay-per-class groups. She is a certified K-12 teacher (FL, VA) and has been a co-organizer for another group (Orlando Natural Mamas) for a while, but is branching out to expand her epic playdates. She holds her Ph.D. in special education and will always make every child feel included and welcome. Please send a private message through Meetup with any questions you have!
