St. Paul Critical Thinking Club

I'm sorry to be so late with this. We announce meetings in so many ways that I apparently forgot Meetup for this one. Please feel free to just show up, even if you have not RSVP'd.

It is said that there is something wrong with a young person who is not liberal or an old person is not conservative. The root of this observation appears to be born out in our general attitudes as well as voting and other preferences. Racism is more prevalent in some groups than others, as well as tolerance for new ideas. Are journalists really more liberal than other professions, and how about some of those other professions? Mr. Schrunk will discuss a number of observations and causes to bring into focus these natural tendencies.

Tom Schrunk is an artist living in Minneapolis who describes himself as an “Artist in Lustrous Materials”, working primarily in wood veneers, brushed metals, and lustrous concrete (his invention). He has an interest in ways we interact with each other and how this relates to society. In the summer he serves as project photographer for archaeological projects in Croatia directed by his wife, Vanca. He writes for trade publications and currently authoring a book on wood veneer technique and teaches classes on the subject. He was the Independence Party candidate for Congress this year in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District.
