West Metro Critical Thinking Club

Patriarchy: The Underpinning of Religion

Modern atheists and critical thinkers often discuss major monotheistic religion from the perspective of its irrational belief systems. But to fully understand these religions, we must go beyond their stated tenets and look at their deeper structure. The major monotheistic religions are fueled by another system—patriarchy—which is older and, arguably, more powerful than religion. St. Paul Critical Thinking Club member Jo Marsicano will explore some of the essence of patriarchy and some important connecting threads between patriarchy and religion.

SPEAKER: Ms. Jo Marsicano who gave this same excellent presentation to our St. Paul club.
