Welcome to Crochet, Chat, Coffee, Cake ... with extra Knit and Natter.
The aim of the group is to get together with like-minded people to crochet and knit in a sociable environment, discover new stitches, make new friends and talk about all things woolly! We generally meet twice a month in central Manchester (one Saturday morning and one Thursday evening) and also organise trips to yarn festivals and other wool-related activities.
We are the official Manchester branch of the Knitting and Crochet Guild, a UK charity that was established in 1978 to preserve the art of crochet and knitting and to encourage education and innovation. With this in mind, we try to host 'learn to ...' workshops alongside teaching more advanced stitches.
Please note that there is a one-off £2 fee to join the group.
Once the Meetup hosting fee (approx. £140 per year) and any other ad hoc expenses have been covered, your £2 joining fee will be donated to Emmeline's Pantry Parlour, a food bank for women in Manchester. Along with the fees from the book club I run, we have donated £212 to date towards our monthly food bank collection.
We are also making baby hats and blankets for Emmeline's so if you have any leftover wool, and some spare time, all donations are gratefully received!
If you love crochet and knitting and are new to Manchester, want to make new friends or just get out of the house and do something a bit different, bring along your current project and join us. We'll make you very welcome.
We're looking forward to meeting you!
Best wishes, Helen

There is a £2 fee to join the group which is used to cover the Meetup hosting fee (£130 per year).
If you attend a Meetup in the first month of joining, please pay the £2 fee in cash at the event. Otherwise you can use PayPal to pay through the membership link on this page.
If you haven’t paid within 8 weeks of joining, I will assume you have decided the group is not for you and are happy to be unsubscribed. You are, of course, very welcome to re-join at any time, upon payment of the fee.
Please only sign up to an event if you fully intend to come along, and make sure you add the date to your diary/calendar so you don't forget.
Remember to update your RSVP status if your plans change and you can no longer make it, but wherever possible, no later than 24 hours before the event. As we often have people on the waitlist, this gives someone else the chance to come along. As is common practice with most Meetup groups, we operate a “3 no-shows and you're out” policy.
You wouldn’t leave your friends wondering if you were going to turn up for a night out so please remember, we're the friends you just haven't met yet.
