Originally a Cantonese custom, dim sum is inextricably linked to the Chinese tradition of "yum cha" or drinking tea. Today, dim sum is served throughout China. Each region has their own specialties. Dim sum consists of a variety of dumplings, steamed dishes and other goodies

We will teach you about two different dimsum, the first one is the traditional Shanghai-style baozi. The baozi or xiaolongbao, as is it also known, is one of kind of tang bao ("soup dumpling") or guantang bao ("soup-filled dumpling").

Jiaozi are a kind of Chinese dumpling and the second dish we will be making. It's one of the major foods eaten during the Chinese New Year and year round in the northern provinces. We will have both meat and vegetable fillings availabe for you.
