What we're about
Upcoming events (3)
We will begin with hellos and a discussion/review of the points of posture and helpful meditation tips. Have a cushion or two available if sitting on the floor or a chair with a straight back. You also may want to consider incorporating fragrance, a photo, or soothing music. Participants will be muted during the meditation. The silent meditation will be about 20 minutes, with a chime to begin, at the midpoint, and to end the session. We will conclude with some time for members to share something they experienced, make comments, or ask questions.
Prior to the event, I will message participants with the zoom meeting ID and passcode.
Shamatha meditation practice, held in person at the Gampopa Buddhist Meditation Center for those who are fully vaccinated.
Parking is available along the street outside the building. The door opens directly to a flight of stairs. At the top of the stairs shoes must be removed and can be placed on the shelf. When you enter the Gampopa Center the restroom is to the left and the shrine room to the right. I believe it is proper etiquette to wear a shirt with sleeves or a scarf to cover shoulders. There is no need to bring anything with you. Prayer books and cushions are provided. If you wish to make a donation to the Center you can do so online (the website is below).
**Several other weekly events (different days and times) are available virtually through the Gampopa Center. Please see the website for details: https://www.gampopacenter.com/buddhist-studies-practice
Message me directly if you have interest in participating in one of the zoom sessions so I can be sure you are notified in the event a session is canceled.
