Any idea if this sunday watch party is happening? This is truly amazing. 13 wins in 14 games. Facing the sox 3 most difficult pitchers this weekend. Sunday could be bad w sale vs haren but w the way things have been going who knows. I think the game is at 220 on Sunday. #gocubsgo #wearegood

Right now the plan is to make the Uptown Duckworth's our home. They have been the most responsive to us. We have had some events at the Duckworth's on Montford. They just have a smaller space and usually cannot give us audio.
To address the south county issue, Most of our attendance at meetups (even those in South Park) was from people that lived either north or east of the city. Given that has been the biggest area of attendance, I don't really think it is fair to move from the center city to a point further south. If people from Ballantyne start attending with the frequency of Huntersville or Cornelius, I would definitely look into it.
I know center city isn't super close for all, but it does allow the whole county to be within a 20-30 min drive of the event. We just can't say the same for events in Huntersville or Ballantyne.

I was thinking of doing a Sunday afternoon for the end of the White Sox series this weekend and then maybe we can focus on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

When are you scheduling something on the south side? There is a Duckworths in Ballantyne too.

Hello All:

I just got back from Chicago.  I was there for the SF series.  It was so exciting.  Not only did we sweep one of our key rivals for a playoff spot, but the stadium was filled with so much excitement and electricity.  I haven't seen Wrigley so exciting in quite some time.

We have 8 more weeks of the regular season!

I'd really like to see us hold some regular meetups to watch the games.  Duckworths Uptown has been so wonderful to us.  The GM, Kenny, is a Chicago native and die-hard Cubs fan.  He gives us great TV exposure and often sound to watch and hear the games.  I have never had to pay for parking there as there are a number of on-street meters that are free after 6pm and on weekends nearby.

I created a survey to try and determine the best nights, or days, for people to gather and watch the games.  Please reply to the survey here:

I will work to get some scheduled ASAP.  Once, I do, I hope to see really good numbers out at the game watches.  This is an exciting time to be a Cubs fan, probably the most optimism I have had for the long term success of the club that I have had in my life.  There is no reason with a list of 130+ that we cant get 10-20 people out for each event.  Hope to meet (or see again) many of you soon.

Thanks,

Tim Emry
