Hope everyone enjoyed last night‘s quiz - despite the low number of expected guests, we ended up with three strong teams! I am hoping to see everyone also next Monday.
The quiz normally starts around 20:30 (not later) and to get the place, it would be better to fix the meeting time at 19:30 to give everyone the chance to come and form teams. The few of us normally there early sit by the front door to meet and greet (first table across from the door, last night was the first time ever I have seen this table occupied by others, in which case we sit at the bar), and later we move inside in the left corner. Tap time happy hour goes on until 8pm, so if you are up to 2-for-1 drinks, do come on time.
A team of max 6 people will be made and you will be taken through 3 rounds of 10 interesting questions for each round with different subjects around the world (history, geography, popular culture, sports, music - there is something for everyone).
Questions from yesterday included: what kind of number is an "emirp" number in Math, what was the previous name of Chemnitz in Saxony, what is the real name of Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst, how many episodes were produced in total for the TV series MacGyver, as well as your regular 7 "special" questions - backwards music clips, video, face morphs and macro image.
The quiz is held in English and the questions are also repeated in German (hats off to Johannes for switching between languages with such ease).
There are also nice prizes for the top teams on the end of quiz, which lasts until around 23:00. The winning team will be awarded with a bottle of delicious (most often Jameson) whiskey, and since last week there have been prizes for second and third place, too - as well as points for the league. So you have nothing to lose except 1 Euro each for a participation fee.
Looking forward to welcoming you at the Castle Pub next week.
