  • Pajama Party! ~ Pajama Party!!

    The Parlor

Pajama Party! Time to roll out of bed and show off your best pajamas, onesies, robe, sleeping gown or other sleeping wear at the Pajama Party (probably not the birthday suit pajamas though, haha)! I figured I can announce this event so you can begin searching for that perfect pair of PJ's - I know that Target has a great selection of onesies but there are other options as well. Ladies, Victoria's Secrets has very comfy PJs! Even Costco has PJs. But, seriously, if you don't mind with what you actually sleep in (that's tasteful...), that will work too! :) As with any good Pajama Party, we'll be playing games such as Twister, Toss the Teddy, Cards Against Humanity, Jenga and more! Pillow fight anyone? Please pay cash $10 cash at the door! We will host this at The Parlor on Melrose! We will start the evening at 9:30PM. Come play some games, have some drinks, and meet other friendly guests. We plan to end the evening at 1:00AM so those taking uber/lyft can hopefully avoid high surcharges! There will be valet parking for those that choose to drive (and some street parking - please read the sign). If you are drinking, please remember to save yourself LOTS of money by taking an uber/lyft (DUI is very costly). This event is cross-posted on several groups - Expect a great turnout! Parking: Valet is $10 per vehicle. There is street and metered parking around the neighborhood.

You like wine. You like travel. You like history & culture. You like to do it with good people and while having a great fun social time. Maybe have it be a little quirky and off the beaten path too. And you want it all at a fair decent cost. Is that too much to ask for? Apparently not!!! Because there is this meetup. A wine, history & culture tour. Mostly it's a wine tasting. There are some added special gems. Let's get to the main details. This is a one day LA to Paso Robles and back adventure. Itinerary: 7:30 to 11:00 LA to Paso Robles 11:00 to 12:30 Sculptera Wineery www.sculpterra.com 12:30 to 2:00 lunch bites Cass Winery www.casswines.com/ 2:00 to 3:30 Bianchi www.bianchiwine.com/ 3:30 to 4:30 Eberle Winery www.eberlewinery.com/ 4:30 to 6:00 Thai dinner at Tobin James www.tobinjames.com/ Gas up .restrooms . . freshen up and on the road home by 6:30/7:00 Home earliest by 10 if no traffic. 10:30/11 latest 6 to 9 PM Nap and Sober up. Let's look closer at this sched. First of all . . .this is a guide NOT hard in stone. There is going to be shifting of times and adjusting as we go. The one thing that is NOT flexible is our depart time. THIS WILL BE FIRM!!!!! BE EARLY TO BE ON TIME. We are leaving SHARP It gives 3 hrs there and 3 back (and 1/2 hr float) According to the google machine. That's the min. On the Sat AM ride up via the 5. It will be close to that. The ride home may be 15 to 30 more if there is slowing. If you look you will see it gives us generous time per location and time for getting on and off and travel between. But again . . there is flexibility within this. We can linger longer or bail early of the place is just not working for us.. All of these wineries are on many of the Paso Robles top ten best wineries lists. Possible Bonus Culture and history locations after dinner if time permits: Madonna Inn https://www.madonnainn.com/ Bubble Gum Alley https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_sRx1OOPwE or https://youtu.be/J9eLrwINgXU All in all this is the most cost effective way to get the most. • {Gratuit} Getty Villa Montessori Scavenger Hunt w/ Potluck Piknic Garden Lunch

The Getty Villa . . . that amazing place to go. If you have never been. . . it should be on your list. Read all the details about this event. What will we be doing? Will will be doing the "Montessori Museum Scavenger Hunt" This is where we mimic the assorted artwork while in front of it using the artwork as the model. If you want to use fancy words it's a version of doing a "Tableau Vivant" or "living stone" or "living statues" Afterwards we will have a potluck picnic. Itinerary 9:30 to 10:00 Arrival 10 to 10:30 Meander and Stroll 10:30 to 11:00 Small Art Lesson AND Instructions for Montessori Museum Scavenger Hunt 11:00 to 12:30 Montessori Museum Scavenger Hunt 12:30/1:00 to 1:45 Potluck Lunch 2:00 onwards More Museum or head out to other adventure So here is what will happen. Getty opens to allow onto the property (parking) at 9:30AM The grounds are open but not the main bldg. That opens at 10:00AM I STRONGLY suggest you are in line at the main gate on PCH no later than 9:30 to get in first and park. Either way, . . . The main part of the meetup will start at 10:30 sharp. Get there early and there will be bonus time. At 10 I will do a docent tour of the Outer Peristyle area (central garden courtyard) for 30 people max. At 10:30 the Art Lesson will include The Lost Language of Hands (spoiler alert: it's all about the hands), . . . This will lead us to then having a lot of fun. After the lesson we will then break people off into groups of 5 (or so). One person on the team will be responsible to sending photos of your items (the team with the most and best photos wins). Lunch will be either in the picnic area or the upper grass area (bring a blanket) After that spend more time at the museum at your leisure with new friends. Or head out toward the neat offerings in Topanga cyn such as https://www.instagram.com/hiddentreasurestopanga/ The Getty Villa is normally free. You only have to pay for parking. Parking is $20 per car. I have a limited number reservations for I can give out. It's better if we carpool. If you have parking, uber, bus questions http://www.getty.edu/visit/villa/plan/parking.html And yes, . . .the museum is fully aware we are coming and doing this. So it's not like we will get in trouble. But we still have to behave (a little bit). I can NOT do a docent led for all of us due to limit of 20 people per room. So we are doing Tableau Vivants instead. It's a different art lesson. This event is no +1. This means if you have a guest: have them RSVP on the group. I need to account for all attendees. If I have a firm list I can increase the space they have allocated for us. This event WILL fill. I will allocate tickets ONLY to those that follow instructions. Tix given NOT on the order you rsvp. You will enter your cell and email when you RSVP. Those who do not will not get tix. 1 week before will confirm you can make it. No reply. Not going. Parking pass will be emailed to those who confirm. (now you see why I need the email address) In case you are wondering what we will do: Here are previous time we went. https://www.meetup.com/IWantToDoThat/photos/all_photos/?photoAlbumId=29713249 And yes. Getty is totally aware we are doing this and welcome it due to it actually being a guerrilla art lesson. This event is super special. You can RSVP if you are only interested as the confirm part will only start before the event. Question: Why don't you do a docent led tour instead? We have done Getty and I lead the docent tours. However the limit is 20 people in an single room or 25 in the outer peristyle. So I have to make an event with strict limits and then be the Hall Monitor and kick out those to no-show. IF you want to not have to get the Parking Pass from me you can go to the Getty website and reserve a parking pass from them for that date and time. It will free up for another person to go. If you do that still RSVP here. When I message to confirm you will let me know you already have a reservation
