Beginner Ride/Recovery Ride

We will be doing this ride every week weather permitting through the summer.

Plan to show up soon enough to be ready to ride at 6pm sharp!

This will be a 10 mile ride for starters and is aimed at beginners. The plan is to keep the 10 mile aspect but as the year goes on to allow for a second group that will go a bit further and maybe a little faster. hopefully working up to 17-20 miles for the faster group by the end of the season.

Experienced riders that want a recovery ride --- we welcome you and your experience to this group and will welcome the help in managing this ride!
You will need
- a bicycle in good working order
- air in your tires every time
- a helmet
- water bottles (plural)
- a great attitude :)

 

Performance has offered us an opportunity to move inside in the event of inclement weather,you will need your own trainer in this event, but there will be opportunity to keep it at the store if you would like.

    I ride at least 1 day every weekend for training but many of these rides are to advanced 4 this group
    I am riding 60 miles at 7am Sunday all hills many steep if u want To join
    Otherwise I have plans for shorter flatter rides starting before the end of May

      I understand. I would not like to slow you down. Also, I probably still do not have the right kind of bike of bike this kind of ride. I ride a Sirrus Hybrid bike.

    Can this group plan more rides during the weekends? I live in Indianapolis but work in West Lafayette. I would love to ride in groups but I can not seem to find very many rides for the weekends.

    I also enjoyed the slightly faster pace and I think Mondays group is Fantastic!...but I think we should slow down a little and wait for the slower riders when we are getting to far ahead. Ride together so everyone can learn to ride as a group(including myself). If we drop the slower riders that might discourage them and they might not come back....Just a constructive/positive observation. :)

      Hi Eileen. We generally ride in a neighborhood not far from the bicycle shop. There is very little traffic on the course and the pace is comfortable.
