TICKETS - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/communication-innovation-in-tech-teams-tickets-49843171267 DESCRIPTION Our next event will focus on “Communication & Innovation in tech teams”. When: Wednesday 26th September 2017, starts at 18:30. Name – Rocco Scaramuzzi Title – “The “Secret” for successful software engineers. Summary – As software engineers we like to learn new technologies and like to solve complicated problems but very often we ignore some basic skills such as communication. Communication skills are equally as important as technical skills and they are so critical for our personal growth, our team members and our customers. About Rocco – Technical Lead at Posterscope. Computer science engineer with 10 years of experience in Microsoft .NET full stack development with exposure to machine learning and Artificial Intelligence. Big enthusiastic of Agile and best practices. Founder of 11Derma, a start-up which provides cutting edge technologies to improve people’s health. Name – Alex Walker Title – “Effective Innovation” About the talk – Applying modern management techniques incorrectly can quickly result in unnecessary technical debt and uncontrollable financial investment, however applied correctly, and ideas and solutions can be tried and tested rapidly, regardless of the size of the organisation. Organisations big and small can benefit from understanding how to manage tech teams that are there to innovate. Innovating needs to be treated in a similar way to evolution – fail fast and keep trying. Often larger companies struggle to act like smaller organisations because of this, and get scarred when the costs seem to ever build. The secret is that small companies have no choice but to act in this manner and we only tend to discuss the successes. This talk outlines why failing is the key to innovating and how you can bring this culture into your business. About Alex– Alex is an engineer through and through, spends his days solving technical problems. He is the CEO founder of BlockSize Unlimited, a blockchain management company and has had to train himself to think of the needs before the nice to haves. Software has brought a whole new way of thinking to the world of management and Alex has been part of tech teams applying these experimental techniques for the best part of a decade. He has been working with global organisations, helping them apply these methods to improve the effectiveness of their innovation departments for 5 years. Although he is a technologist first, Alex recognises the need to see the bigger picture and understand the business goals when using technology to solve a problem. **NOTE THAT YOUR NAME & EMAIL ADDRESS WILL BE SHARED WITH THE VENUE. What we're about

We started out in 2013 by hosting a group for Italian Developers in London. Over time we managed to grow this to groups for Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, French & South African but we found that a lot of people were interested in the content contained in the talks; so we opened IDinLondon (International Developers in London) to everyone by creating this group.

In the spring of 2018, we brought all of our offerings together as CurlyBraces.tech (http://curlybraces.tech).

Talks are technical and surround web based (and app based) software development. Sometimes we have a featured speaker, but mainly the presentations are given out by the members of the community (all in English by the way!).

Events are hosted by Adam Bolton who is actually a nice recruiter just trying to give back to the community he hires for.
