DVD Discussion Group: Romeo and Juliet (1968)

The basic premise of this meetup is the same as a book club, only with a movie instead. We select a movie on DVD in advance, and we each watch the movie separately at our convenience. Then we get together to discuss it for an hour or so on the third Monday of each month.

C'ville Coffee is a nice space; there are food and drinks available, including hot dinner-style food, and the parking is good.

This month we'll discuss Romeo and Juliet (1968), the acclaimed version directed by Franco Zeffirelli. It was nominated for two Oscars (Best Picture, Best Director) and won two others (Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design). Mike will open the discussion, and then we will all get to express our opinions, reactions, and ideas about the film.

*Where Can I Find This Movie?:*
Try local video stores, e.g. Sneak Reviews; online streaming and rental sites such as Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Amazon, and; the public library and the UVa library (if you are affiliated with the UVa). Let George know if none of these will work for you.

Sorry I missed this. Completely swamped after coming back from a trip late Sunday. Enjoyed the film though.

I was in Jr. High when this movie came out. I think I saw it once a week for months.
