NSL is proud to host teacher Kody K from Cyber Weapons Lab LA ethical hacking meetup. Check them out here: https://www.meetup.com/Cyber-Weapons-Lab-LA/
The Wi-Fi duck is a remotely accessible keystroke injection tool that allows you to write, save, and run payloads over Wi-Fi from any browser. Using an ESP8266 microcontroller paired with a Atmega32u4, the Wi-Fi duck creates a hotspot for you to control the device once plugged in, and a graphic user interface to store and run playloads.
This allows payloads to be written for any operating system and stored on the Wifi Duck, and then run via the web interface once it’s plugged in. It also makes it easy to run payloads live from the browser window, in the event you need to paste text into a computer from across the room.
With a range of up to half a mile using a directional antenna, the Wi-Fi duck can allow anyone to inject keystrokes to a computer remotely. To get it working, we’ll be soldering a D1 Mini and a Pro Micro to a printed circuit board, flashing each microcontroller with firmware, and then deploying the Wi-Fi duck against a Raspberry Pi target.
All students will go home with their own Wifi-enabled USB hacking microcontroller board.

Prerequisites:
Students should bring a laptop running Windows, MacOS, or Linux. If on Windows, install PuTTY from here: https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html
If running MacOS or Windows, install the following driver before attending class: https://wiki.wemos.cc/downloads
More information can be found here: https://sparks.gogo.co.nz/ch340.html
Bring a Micro USB cable for working with your ESP8266 board! Soldering experience is a plus but help will be available.
About our teacher:
Kody Kinzie is a security researcher at Varonis, with a background in Wi-Fi security and low-cost hacking tools. He hosts the Cyber Weapons Lab show on Null Byte's YouTube channel, a soon to be released show for Hak5, and the Varonis Security Tools podcast.
