Cycling to Stargazing and movie night at Museum of Technology

  • Booth St & Sir John MacDonald Parkway

Booth st & Sir John MacDonald Parkway, Ottawa, ON, Ottawa, ON (map)

    45.416393 -75.714661

  • I will be riding to the Perseids Meteor Shower Movie Night at the Museum of Science and Technology.

    Participants must:
    * Be comfortable in sharing the road with traffic
    * Have front and rear light for night riding
    * Have a bell (this is required by law)
    * Bring their own locks and water.

This will be a cyclo-commuting calibre, a little stronger then the usual rides I organize. About half of the itenary will be on bike path with the other half on road. Proposed itenary is here: http://goo.gl/maps/vskWx . The cycling portion of the event will be cancelled if there is *any* chance of rain forcasted for the evening the day before.

We will meet at the north west corner of Booth and the River Parkway, next to the flags.

Sorry folks, but the event is cancelled.

As mentioned on the event description:
"The cycling portion of the event will be cancelled if there is *any* chance of rain forecast for the evening the day before."

EC is forecasting "Periods of rain with risk of thunderstorms. Amount 15 to 25 mm. Low 17." See http://weather.gc.ca/city/pages/on-118_metric_e.html .

    Have a good week,

    Julien

Great! Close enough to the full moon. Get your lights for your bike.

The full moon is on the 11th, but it will be close to the night ride Alexis has been asking for, ;)

Just a note that I've had some back pain so I may not be able to attend. I hope it gets better before the 12th.
