Waverly Ride to Sussex with RABA

  • RIDE MOVES OUT AT 9:30. PLEASE TRY TO GET TO THE PARKING LOT BY 9:15 A.M. TO ALLOW TIME FOR GETTING READY TO ROLL.

    This ride travels south through the rural Sussex County countryside to historic Sussex Court House. The route is very rural with few cars to worry us. There will be a stop with rest rooms at bike friendly Thornton's store in the middle of the ride. 

    After the ride all participants are invited to join the group for lunch at Giuseppe's in Waverly.

    Sara Page will lead a B pace group (14 to 16 MPH Average) and Jack Huber follow with the C Pace group (13-14 MPH Average). This ride is 37 miles long. Cue sheets will be provided for those wishing to ride at a different pace.

    Directions: The starting point is the parking lot behind the La Hacienda restaurant (now closed) at 101 S County Drive, Waverly, Va. 23290 -  at the corner of Routes 460 and 40 (Main Street) in the town of Waverly. From Richmond take I-95 or I-295 to Route 460 east toward Norfolk.
