Finally . . . our first shooting practice! The Bull Run Center in Centreville, VA is fantastic for this chilly weekend as they have a nice indoor range. We will meet at the range, and I will have a meet up sign so that everyone can identify our group.
Here are some details:
Fees - Since it's an indoor facility that needs maintenance, they do have fees but they are low. It's about $3-$5 per hour depending how many people come.
Location - Bull Run is not accessible by public transportation, unfortunately. However, many members are willing to carpool other members. Please use this event to post if you need a ride or can give others a ride. It is a 30-45 min car ride depending on where in the DC Metro area you live. For directions visit http://www.nvrpa.org/park/bull_run_public_shooting_center/content/hours_and_directions
Equipment and Lessons - After much research I have found there are no local places that rent archery equipment. Also, I've found that the best archery lessons are at Bull Run although they do not have openings the Saturday of our event. This should not deter any beginners from coming, though. We have many experienced members and I believe some will be willing to teach and allow beginners to try out their equipment. I, for one, will provide instruction and can have any of the women that attend try out my compound bow. Again, lets use this page to post if you don't have equipment or will allow others to try out yours.
I hope everyone can make it!
