Local DSA Members to Attend June 24 House Panel Discussion on Long-Term Unemployed
DSA ally Rep. John Conyers of Detroit, author of H.R. 1000, a proposed extension of the Humphrey-Hawkins Full Employment Act, is cosponsoring a congressional panel discussion on June 24 to examine the social, psychological and economic effects of long-term unemployment. Local progressive activists who are engaged in working on jobs and employment issues, or who would like to be so engaged, are welcome to attend.
In support of H.R. 1000 and other measures to boost job creation and reduce unemployment, local members of Metro DC DSA are organizing a small delegation to attend the June 24 panel discussion, which is currently scheduled for 1 p.m. at Room 2226 of the Rayburn House Office Building. However, organizers of the event warn that details about the location could possibly change. If you are interested in attending the panel hearing either as a member or as a friend of Metro DC DSA, please contact Andy Feeney at email@example.com or Woody Woodruff at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
If you are interested in attending the rally along with other DSA members, please contact local steering committee member Andy Feeney at email@example.com or Woody Woodruff at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
