    We will stay at one of the ocean side group campground for the weekend.

    You must check in at Ranger Station first and get your car parking pass tag before you can drive to the group campground. Jin will send out detailed campsite information through email 3 days before the event day.

    Follow US Route 50 east to MD Route 611 south. Proceed over Verrazano Bridge. Take first RIGHT onto BayBerry Drive. Continue 2.25 miles to entrance station. Take first right to ranger station to register and check in.

    It is a very special sightseeing and hiking event to Assateague and Chincoteague Island. This journey will give you life time beautiful memories.

    A popular family vacation spot, Chincoteague Island has something to offer for every visitor. The Assateague bridge provides vehicle access from Chincoteague to Assateague Island. Enjoy an incredible Assateague sunrise or sunset, the crashing waves of the Atlantic and beautiful sands of its unspoiled beaches. Chincoteague is near some of the most pristine waters in the state. Outdoor recreation and marine adventures await. 

    A visit to Chincoteague lets you experience the wild ponies and one of the most beautiful areas along the East Coast.

    This group will stay at a "Walk In" group campground "Ocean Side" on Maryland side on Friday night and check out on Saturday by 11am. 

    This will be "Car Camping" group: Camping next to where our cars are. So it's family/kids/pets friendly.

      1. Sunset and sunrising on the beach.

      2. Hiking activities: Leader may suggest group hiking time. 

      There are 4 hiking loops: 

      (1) The life of the marsh nature trail. 

      (2) The life of the Dunes nature trail. 

      (3) The life of the forest nature trail.

      (4)  Or just walk along the seashore as long as you like.

      3. Driving to nearby Ocean City and do a few hours' sightseeing.

      4. Setting up your own camp fire. You can buy fire from local stores. 

      5. Drive to Chincoteague Island for a few hours sightseeing. 

      6. Kayaking or canoeing or sailing from the boat launching area in a protested bay section.

      Fees: Car pool ride is NOT a free ride. Minimum $20/pp pay to your driver in order to be fair. Making friends and sharing cost :-)

      The round trip from DC is about 300 miles, $6 Bay Bridge toll fee.
