What Kevin P. is saying about this Meetup Group

The DC Lotus Professionals Meetup Group is a spinoff of the long-standing DC Notes User Group (aka DC Lotus User Group) which has met off and on since the mid-90s. At this stage the attendees are still entirely existing users of Lotus Notes & Domino, which is to be expected. The group is pretty diverse across admin, development, managerial and marketing disciplines. Several IBMers attended which is great (and considering location not surprising). Going forward, the expectation is to broaden the membership significantly using Meetup and LinkedIn, and use these tools to give members the ability to self-organize in ways not previously possible. For example, there are lots of interested folk who simply can't make it into DC during business hours, but might go to an event in the suburbs in the evening. There is a lot of excitement about in particular as it makes it easy to organize events ranging from simple "Lunch & Learn" sessions to multi-day, sponsored conferences.
