Announcing a new Meetup for DC Metro 20's & 30's New In Town & New Friends Meetup!

What: Pre-Cinco de Mayo Happy Hour

When: May 4, 2009 6:30 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: **Joint Event W/DC Educated & Fun Single Professionals (20's & 30's)**

Come make new friends on Monday, May 4th at LIMA at our Pre-Cinco de Mayo Happy Hour! There will be drink specials until 9 pm, light Hors D'oeuvres until 7 pm, and an open Bar for the ladies from 9-11 pm. An appetizer menu will also be available.

LIMA is a swanky Latin-inspired lounge that was recently renovated. It is conveniently located at 1401 K Street, NW in the "K Street Corridor". We will meet on the first floor for drinks at 6:30 pm and continuing mingling and socializing until 10:00 PM.

For those so inclined, there are free salsa lessons in LIMA's lower-level beginning at 9:00 PM. This will be a fun evening to start off the work week. If you have a bad case of "the Mondays," a happy hour at LIMA is the best prescription! :-)

So what is Cinco de Mayo besides a great excuse to party? Well, you guys are smart so you know that Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day. It's a celebration of the defeat of Napoleon's invading French Army at Puebla, Mexico. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated more in the U.S.A. than it is in Mexico. And, no, you don't have to be Mexican to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The same way you don't have to be Irish to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Just come out and have fun!

I will need some co-hosts & greeters for this event to help everyone feel welcomed. If you can volunteer, please contact me.

METRO: One block from the McPherson Square Metro on the Orange/Blue Lines; K Street Circulator and Metro bus lines stops are right in front. For Red Line folks, LIMA is 3-4 blocks from the Farragut North Metro Station (K Street Exit), in case you don't want to switch trains.

PARKING: Street & Garage. There is limited street parking available after 6:30 PM. Please read the parking signs very carefully.
