Re: [dnd-1053] Finalizing Plans for the October Meetup

I'm "game" (ha, ha -- bad pun intended). Thanks a
bunch for coordinating the location, Jim. I know I
can confidently speak for all of us that locating a
venue has been our biggest challenge, so you are our
hero.

I just bought the newly released Savage Worlds
Explorer's Edition, so I am gung-ho to play it. It's
also the foundation for the minis campaign that
Shannon and I are working on, so I need some practice.
Basically I'm saying I want in on your game! See
ya'll Saturday!

Hey All,

I just got off the phone with the Arlington Co. Fire
Station at Ballston (this is what I do at work when
I'm terminally bored). Someone has the room from 1pm
to 3pm, but past that, it's open, and we can get it if
we want it. As I mentioned before, it's somewhat
metro-friendly (about a mile from the Ballston
station, I think), can hold about 20 folks, and, best
of all, it's free. I'm not sure what the seating
situation is, but I'll drag along a folding table in
teh trunk of my car, and if worst comes to worst, I'm
not adverse to sitting on the floor to game. I'll ask
about this if I contact them again (though I can't
imagine a meeting room without these sorts of things).

So, here's the scoop: I'm willing to go and arrange to
have the room from 5pm to 9pm (they close at 10pm, and
that will give us a bit of extra time to pack out our
gear). I just need buy-in, most importantly from our
fearless leaders: Cale, Shannon, Shades, I'm looking
in your direction. I posted the URL with the physical
address farther upstream in this thread; GoogleMap it
if you need to, to make sure you can get there. If I
have a resounding chorus of "yeahs," or a stony
silence, by this time tomorrow, I'll go ahead and get
us the spot. Only if I hear "no" from the group will I
halt this plan. If it turns out that we need to cancel
our spot, I don't believe it will hurt us. After all,
it's a free room.

Past that, I think we're good. I'm still up for
running Savage Worlds, Dark has volunteered to run his
game Khymer, and Jesse's contemplating d20 Cthulhu.
Three games, at six seats a game, gives us 18 spots.
It would be good if we could get a fourth to be our
"standby guy," in case one of us in unable to do his
thing.

At this point, I need everyone's input for this plan.
Please let me know, either on this board or through
email, if this works for you.

Thanks!
