BONUS: We will be giving away an orange ElePHPant (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/eliw/php-architect-orange-elephpant) at this meeting. If you missed the kickstarter, now's your chance to get one of these limited edition plushies.
Symfony2 is a powerful and very flexible web application framework. It is built as a set of components that can also be used independently.
The presentation will introduce the concepts of the Symfony2 framework and show how to work with it. We will also see related technologies like Twig, the default templating layer for Symfony.
If you use Drupal, this talk could also be of interest to you: Drupal 8 uses some of the Symfony components for its foundations and Twig will become the default templating language.
David Buchmann started working with Symfony2 when 2.0 was not yet released. He is co-leader of the Symfony2 Content Management Framework (CMF) project. He works for Liip, a web agency in Switzerland.
Afterwards, if you're interested, a few of us generally head to The Bier Baron's (http://inlovewithbier.com/wordpress2/) back room to continue the conversation over drinks and food.
