Some people have expressed interest in playing in Fairfax. Lets set up another game that repeats every 3 weeks at Fairfax Town Center. Look for the group with cards somewhere in the center tables. We play alomost exclusively double deck pinochle. All levels of play are welcome from beginner to expert. We will teach and coach new players.
We are going to try the old spot again to play Pinochle in Virginia. The location is the Panera Bread in Merrifield. It faces Gallows road but has a Strawberry Lane address. This is easy to reach from I495 if you exit the beltway at the Arlington Blvd. and Merrifield going west and immediately exit onto Gallows Road north. The building is next to the Angelika Film Center Mosaic and also has the Sea Pearl Restaurant and Chipotle in it, and an Imediate Care facility above it. From Strawberry lane turn onto the street between the theater and the Chipotle and park in the garage. Park in level AB by going right when you enter the garage. Panera Bread is on the end.
Hopefully this will better accommodate our Virginia players. This location is roughly a mile from the Dunn Loring Metro station on the Orange Line. If anyone travels to the meetup by metro, one of us will drop you back at the station after the games.
Because people want to start playing earlier, we will start the first game about 6 pm. We play 300 point games so the second game will likely start just after 7 pm. Spring is almost here. Let's play some cards.
Join us for Pinochle on Wednesday night's in Bethesda. The food is good and so are the desserts. Card players of all level are welcome. We play primarily 4-handed double deck Pinochle but other variants are have been tried on occasion. Games go from 6 pm until 10 pm.
Please don't wait until the last minute to RSVP.
