Please join us on September 19th (Monday) in Washington DC for a happy half-hour and another exciting evening of personal self-tracking stories, tool demonstrations, and amazing conversations.  Learn about tools and tricks to improve your personal and work life through self quantification. We are now charging $5 at the door in order to cover the meetup expenses.

Metabolic Compass

Professor's Thomas Woolf and Yanif Ahmad will demo his new app Metabolic Compass.   Metabolic Compass involves an IRB-approved study to collect information across a population for a better understanding of how our Circadian Biology impacts our weight.  If you've heard of time-restricted feeding or intermittent fasting, then that is what we are especially curious to enable you to track with higher fidelity.  

Awarables - Amrit Bandy will describe their new product designed to guide you to better sleep.   Awarables is creating a sleep monitoring and improvement system based on their multi-sensor wearable device and mobile software. They are about to launch their mobile app for helping individuals with insomnia, that provides personalized solutions and recommendations to improve your sleep. Don't miss out on talking to them if you need help with your Insomnia! 

Mobile Sleep Technologies - Dr. Daniel Gartenberg will describe his new effort to implement his sleep detection algorithm with the help of some NSF funding.  I've made a lot of progress with developing a heart rate monitor on an Apple Watch and comparing the output of the Apple watch with gold standard devices - in addition to this very interesting new product that I stumbled upon called the Cricket.

Title: Measuring Heart Rate and EMG to Detect Sleep Stage, among other things...

Description: Dan will discuss how to use commercially available tools to accurate detect sleep stage.  This involves a tutorial in extracting data from Apple's HealthKit and with using the Apple Watch, Oura Ring, Somaxis, Cricket, and other devices to measure both heart hate, body motion, and muscle tension.  

8:00 - 8:30 pm SOCIAL TIME

Talk to the speakers, chat with new and old friends, ask other people what they're tracking, and generally hang out and have a great time.
