What interests you most about robotics?

Controls primarily, especially as they pertain to human-robot interactions. I believe that the entire solution to humans being afraid of the advancement of robots is primarily a controls problem. many people think of robots as being scary machines with harsh movements, but if we are able to control robots to be more human-like, or even childlike, that problem would be for the most part solved. I also like to live by the idea that robots can do anything a human can do (including make more robots!) and often can do it better. I make it my personal goal to make a robot better at its task than a human would be. I also like to dabble in some machine perception and machine learning applications.

My name is Jon and I am a robotics engineer in the Greater DC area. My first love was physics, but I got into engineering because it directly effects the world. I love cars (desperately want a Model S), ultimate frisbee, making robots, and new ideas.
