Describe your backpacking experience and background, please include longest mileage in a day (with pack) and coldest nights out.

started in '13... Experience, add the obscurity of a tent to the following: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/24b56caf3e/black-hiker-with-blair-underwood Longest single day is 31 miles on the Tuscarora Trail, thanks U-Turn. Coldest... hmm, it got down to about 30ish on a Nov trip one time... naw, I'm good on that; I'll stick to summer soldiering, sunshine patriot-ing.

Describe your most recent outdoor adventure. When was it? How did you set it up? Did the weather cooperate? How did it go?

Did my first solo trip in '15 http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/white-pass-pilot-ridge-loop. Took a Spot 3 just in case i fell off a cliff while taking a selfie. Twas to be a 2 nighter, snowed on the first night, didn't quite plan for snow, early Sep, so i hustled 26 miles to get out of there after i woke.

The Big Three: what specific gear (not just brands) do you use for your three-season shelter system, sleep system, and backpack? (It's okay if it isn't ultralight!)

'13 Anjan 2, tent (shameful ~58oz) [UPDATE, '14]: MLD superlight bivy + HMG tarp ~18oz], [UPDATE, '16]: ENO Hammock system (I stopped weighing stuff); EnlightE +20 Revelation (~21oz; last 10% off dcul discount. sweet!!), Xtherm (~15OZ) ; ULA Circuit (39oz; is it just me or does that seem a scale tipper for UL...)... Yup, "make'n it rain", sigh...

Help us understand your reason for joining DC UL Backpacking, including your goals for lightening your load and quickening your backpacking pace.

Was just hiking, commitment-phobe, "sowing oats" with other activities...

How did you learn about our group? (I'm trying to improve our visibility, so I'm curious.)

DC UL was mentioned in a cipher by the dopest battling MC, completely roasted the opponent... Who knew?!?

Introduction

I'll try anything once... unless it looks hard, or scary, or expensive, or I think I'll regret it later... Uh, hmmm, no, I'll go with what I first said, I think...
