From: user 4.
Sent on: Friday, April 6, 2012 3:20 PM

Here is you time to get to know one of the hottest development frameworks available, Ruby on Rails.  You may be a developer who wants to build web apps more efficiently.  You may be someone who may want to start coding with an agile programming solution. Well this is a great opportunity to learn from the best.

This will be an introduction and discussion about Ruby on Rails, an agile, open source full-stack web application framework for the Ruby programming language.  Why it's so popular?  What are the pros and cons? Who needs Ruby for a development project?  The emergence of the Ruby CMS, including Radiant. What makes Ruby different and other interesting questions?

For more details and/or RSVP, see the full listing:

When: Wednesday, April 11,[masked]:30 PM

Where: George Mason University - Truland Building
3330 Washington Blvd. Room 648 Arlington, VA
Arlington, VA 22226

This is the first in a series of meetups to introduce entrepreneurs, start-ups, developers, investors beginners and others about the world of Ruby on Rails and supporting technologies.  We will also cover the new world of Ruby on Rails based Content Management Systems (CMS).  These new tools are similar to WordPress and other CMS platforms which make leveraging the power of Ruby on Rails easier for people who do not want to code.  Workshops will follow, so that beginner and seasoned developers can get hands on experience with the language, including tips and tricks.  Study groups and hackathons will be planned as well in the future.
