Woodworkers Assembly happy hour

Meet fellow DC woodworkers! RFD is a comfortable atmosphere known for its beer selection, with great food and drink specials - they change daily. As the first meeting, our agenda will be to get to know each other and discuss plans for future meetups. To be a little more thorough:

Figure out the most convenient meeting location and time for future meetings.

Identify group members who would like to volunteer their shop space for events

Identify group members who would like give a presentation on specific skills or tools

discuss other possibilities - tool reviews, vintage how-to videos, inspiring books by our favorite craftspeople and designers, public service...

*Please RSVP if you will be attending.

To prep for the meeting, write down three words, phrases, or sentences which represent your ideas for future events or group dynamics. This will help all of us to discuss what we would ultimately like to get from the group.

Some examples are:

talking shop, sharing knowledge

peers

Encourage new woodworkers.

Share your current projects, group troubleshooting/brainstorming sessions

Hold each other to sufficient pricing, and efficient business practices. Share business models which have worked.

Form a collaborative woodworking space.

Hello all in this group...sadly my getting to DC for happy hours is never going go happen but saw that some members are in NOVA...was wondering if anyone might be interested is some sporadic work in my shop which is old Town Alexandria. It would require full working knowledge of industrial woodworking machinery and an acute eye for details. If interested just write me. Many thanks.. also if someone has the need or desire to rent use of my space....iain

James et al, sorry I can't make it after all. A dear friend passed away last week and I am in Baltimore for the funeral.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, David. It's kind of you to let us know that you can't make it, wish you and your family the best.

Wish I could make it but I'll be out of town. This group is a great idea and I'm looking forward to future events that I (hopefully) will be able to attend.
