On July 24th, join us for two timely discussions. First, we will have our quarterly Breaking into Cyber event. Then, Fractal Industries will discuss Active Directory and SSO Security with an emphasis on current threats, tools, and practical approaches for security leaders.

Newcomers have a chance to meet others who are eager to break into the field and returning members get to share their experience about where their adventures in the cybersecurity have taken them and how they got to where they are today. Bring along any friends or colleagues who may be new to the field and want to share or receive professional advice, or simply want a chance to expand their professional network.

Also, bring along your resumes and/or business cards, you may come across your next business partner, career opportunity, or mentor at this event!

The vast majority of enterprises today rely on Active Directory and MIT Kerberos for authentication across Windows and Linux environments. With privilege escalation and lateral movement via AD-related attacks reaching new heights and tools for mapping and exploiting AD and Kerberos becoming widely available, defenders are facing growing challenges in the battle against credential compromise and abuse. A detailed refresher on some of the fundamentals of enterprise authentication and single sign-on and a discussion of open source exploitation and pen testing tools sets the stage for a discussion about how defenders can instrument their organizations to avoid silent failures and regain confidence and control in the authentication. Building on the right data around Kerberos and AD, security teams can further leverage Windows Event Logs, Sysmon and other data sources to support behavioral analysis and insider threat mitigation without the longstanding challenge of garbage in, garbage out that plagues mainstream behavior-based tools today due to attacks like Golden Ticket, Silver Ticket, DC Sync, or DC Shadow.
