Celebrate with General Washington in honor of his 288th birthday!
Admission is FREE on George Washington's Birthday - Saturday, February 22 (a $20 savings off the regular adult admission).
THERE ARE NO ADVANCED TICKETS FOR THIS EVENT - just show up.
The event is open to all including children and groups - non-service animals are not allowed.
Timed tickets for Mansion tours will be distributed upon entry.

Visit Mount Vernon on George Washington's birthday for FREE! Throughout the day, kids may create a birthday card for George Washington in the Hands-on-History Center. Take a selfie while posing like George Washington in the Education Center Lobby. General Washington greets his guests in the historic area, and the Sons of Liberty provide birthday music in the Ford Orientation Center throughout the afternoon. Savor a piece of birthday cake in the Vaughan Lobby (while supplies last) and hear the Air Force Strings perform in the Smith Auditorium.

Getting Here: Mount Vernon is easily accessible by car from Alexandria, Virginia and Washington, DC. Parking is FREE. You can also reach us by public transportation or via boat cruise, bike (bike rentals are available), and tour bus. Learn more about how to get here:
Hours: Mount Vernon is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and you’re able to arrive and depart whenever you like. However, we strongly recommend arriving early, by 8:30 at the latest, to secure parking, get in line for admission, etc. before the masses show up later in the day.
