The Talks:
The entrepreneurs behind 2 DC startups – Giv.to and Style Borrow (working name) – will discuss the strategies they use to develop markets, get early customers, and build their products.

1. Giv.to is a conversational marketing platform that enables users to transform disorganized, ad-hoc approaches to social media into managed, sophisticated campaigns. Co-founder Michael Mayernick (http://spinnakr.com/) (@mmayernick (http://www.twitter.com/mmayernick)) will share some tricks his team learned while experimenting with testing strategies, including how to:

Use un-built features to generate insights Look beyond the data to implement solutions Test your testing
2. Style Borrow is a garment library to which women can contribute and borrow clothes, including tops, bottoms, shoes, and accessories. Founder Rebecca Thorman (http://kontrary.com) (@kontrary (http://www.twitter.com/kontrary)) will discuss how she's testing the idea without building a product and acquired an inventory without paying a dime. She's looking for input on topics like:

The viability of a subscription model Finding the sweet spot between scale and investment, both in terms of technology and fulfillment Which financing opportunities to explore -- and when How to maximize profitability potential via additional revenue streams

The Expert:
Providing feedback via Skype from Boulder will be Brad Feld (http://www.bradfeld.com/), co-founder and managing director at Foundry Group (http://www.foundrygroup.com/), and co-founder of TechStars (http://www.techstars.org/). He speaks around the world and also shares insights on BradFeld.com (http://www.feld.com/).

After Brad provides his thoughts to each presenter, the audience will have a chance to ask pertinent questions related to the lean startup approach.

Bonus Round! Another Expert:
After the presentations, we are thrilled to have an opportunity to turn the tables and interview Mixergy's Andrew Warner (http://mixergy.com/), who will be joining us in-person at the event.

Attendees will also have a chance to pick his brain before we wrap up for the evening and head to Dusk (http://www.opentable.com/dusk-lounge-at-the-westin-grand-washington-dc) for ongoing, energizing conversations over happy hour specials all evening.
