When working out, a “spotter” is someone who assists another person during a particular exercise to help that person lift or push more. Done correctly, spotters encourage others to push beyond the limit in which they could normally perform alone. DC Spotter follows this philosophy in the context of business development and entrepreneurship. As one of the largest entrepreneurial Meetup groups in the greater Washington, DC Area, DC Spotter allows young professionals and entrepreneurs to collaborate and network with like-minded individuals who can help each other achieve their respective business goals.

Whether it’s developing a business plan, securing financial collateral, managing client relationships, or launching a marketing strategy, all businesses operate in a similar manner. No matter what industry your business may focus on, each business will encounter the same problems and obstacles as every other business. It is this collective and universal experience that allows fellow DC Spotters to relate to each another.

Think of DC Spotter as a support group for professionals who are contemplating their own business; small business owners who are just getting started; and experienced entrepreneurs looking to take their business to the next level. By joining DC Spotter, members will be able to:

(1) Participate in a marketplace of ideas
(2) Vet business plans with business owners unrelated to your industry
(3) Build connections outside existing industry or social circles
(4) Network through idea sharing as opposed to collecting business cards
