Ft. Ben offers lots of great trails that range from easy to rugged. This park is nice because it's so close to downtown, yet feels so far away from the city!
NEW for this hike - we'll meet at the trail head of the Schoen Creek trail, which is near the parking lot by the visitor's center. This trail is 3 miles long and moderately rugged as it's also used as a mountain bike trail. We'll stop for breaks along the way. This will be my first time on the trail, as well, but I expect this hike to last about 90 minutes.
If it is pouring rain, consider this event to be canceled. Entrance to the park is $5/vehicle. 2013 annual pass for DNR State Parks & Reservoirs. They are only $40 and are good from Jan 1st - Dec 31st.
Trail map is available online (http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/files/ftharrison_trail.pdf).
