Re: [chinese-286] August Chinese Meetup Update

Hi Stuart,
Thanks for the effort.
I had played badminton in UTD with my friends who were student there. At that time, as long as one person has UTD's student ID, then others in the same party paid 2 dollors to use the court. Hopefully the rule is still the same. If any of our memenbers is student of UTD, we can verify this. Otherwise I can stop by the school to ask, it is on my way home everyday.

Dajia Hao / Greetings Everyone!

Hope you all are enjoying the blast furnace like weather!  After a heat induced lull in our activities, expect the number of events to start picking up again this month.  We also have a number of announcements to pass along:

Asian Film Festival of Dallas (AFFD)

The 2008 AFFD begins this Thursday at the Magnolia Theatre.  More information can be found at  Take a minute to review the list of films.  If you see something you want to see, let others know by posting on our message board.  Ben and I will review the results to plan an outing next weekend.  I understand the Magnolia Theatre does not seat a lot people, so the sooner we pick a film, the better shot we have at getting tickets.

Member Profiles

If you haven't already done so, please take a moment to complete your profile.  This information is very helpful to the organizers because it helps us understand your Chinese language ability as well as what you want from this group.

Day at the Lake & Picnic

We're still planning to spend a day at Joe Pool Lake, but we're now looking at September to give things a chance to cool down just a bit.

If anyone knows a place that has Badminton (yumaoqiu) courts, please let me know.

As always, if you have any suggestions or there is an activity you would like to do, please voice your opinion.
