So a few of us were talking and it seems like we should give ourselves an opportunity to put our imaginations, knowledge, and teamwork to use in a monthly or quarterly design jam.
You will get together with a group and come up with an idea related to the topic and do a pitch. For example the topic could be rising rates of stds and you could come up with a home testing kit.
Upon arrival we'll do a quick introduction to the event and we will disclose the topic. The goal for participants is to create and pitch an interesting project that is associated to the topic after some brainstorming and designing with team members.
Participants are encouraged to bring prizes no more that $10 in value (bottle of beer would suffice) to give to the team of their choice as a prize at the end of the pitching rounds.
Lunch will be provided (most likely pizza)
From here participants (either in teams or going "han solo") will get to work away on their idea. In the last hour, teams will give a 5 minute pitch/presentation on their ideas. At the end of this members will give prizes they brought to the teams of their choice.
This will be a 5 hour event 11-4pm
