How did you hear about us?

Through reddit (the San Diego subreddit), Dilanka, and Richard.

What sort of events do you expect from DIYbio San Diego?

I'm primarily interested in organization, governance procedures, and actual laboratory practice. What do we do when we're doing DIYbio? How do we do it? How would we like it to be represented?

How would you describe your lab experience?

Most of my bio experience comes from field methods, as my pre-social science interests were in environmental science and ecology. That's just another way of saying that, when it comes to lab experience, I don't have much.

I'm a graduate student in sociology and science studies at UCSD. My research interests are in micro interactions and nontraditional scientific/technological spaces, and I usually work with video and participant observation as methods.
