The Tempest @ Synetic Theatre

The recipient of 24 Helen Hayes awards, Synetic Theatre is renowned for their innovative theater adaptations. The Tempest, the latest in their Shakespeare series, looks like it won't disappoint audiences seeking a unique out of the box theater experience.

We will meet for pre-show dinner, or appetizers & drinks in Crystal City at Kora (our group has a 6PM reservation) then walk over to Synetic to enjoy the show. Currently this event is scheduled for Saturday March 2. The show will run from Feb 21 - March 24.

More about The Tempest...

On the water-filled stage, Synetic’s visual poetry will bring Prospero’s magical island to life. A romantic drama of epic proportions emerges from the depths as spirits, monsters, witches, drunken fools and lithe lovers contort and cavort with all the passion and bravado you can imagine.

With The Tempest, Synetic presents the ninth installment in its renowned “Silent Shakespeare” series. Expect BIG things with this production: stunning set design complete with a water extravaganza, larger-than-life visual, acrobatics and the remarkably visceral experience Synetic is known for.

Patrons in the “Splash Zone” should expect to get splashed with water from our water stage. Because it’s live theater, this could range from droplets to your daily recommended water intake. Synetic Theater ponchos will be provided to patrons in the splash zone rows. Click here for a link to the seating chart.
$40 / $15 Students.

Note: If there is interest, I may try to get a group rate, but most likely this would entail commitment and pre-payment of tickets by attendees. I will watch for any recommendations you may have.

Location: Here is a directory map of the Crystal City Shops (pdf), the Synetic Theatre is in the "underground" on the 2100 side of the Metro.

Car: Crystal City has free parking in the Crystal City Shops on the Weekend and after 5PM. Click here for parking information.

Metro: Crystal City is on the Blue/Yellow Line. Information regarding the Metro can be found here. Exit on the Mid-Level. Turn Left for the Shops at 2100. Walk through the underground past the eye doctors office and you will be at Synetic.

I just called - they still have B and C tickets available. I also wish we were sitting together - is there anyone else still needing to purchase a ticket?

Hi ... I'm very late in catching up with details. It looks like the group is not sitting together, is that right? And, only splash zone is left?

Hi everyone, nice to meet you! I just bought my ticket (I'm in the dreaded "Splash Zone"). Look forward to meeting everyone.

Ticket bought. If you haven't gotten yours yet, this would be a reminder. Only B and C sections are left. A is sold out.

Hi Everyone - There has been some interest in getting group tickets so that we can sit together. First, we will need a minimum of 10 people in attendance to get a group rate. Second, if interested in sitting together, you will need to state a preference for where you would like to sit. Here is a link to the seating chart.
