CHANGED TO A ZWIFT VIRTUAL RIDE DUE TO COVID-19

The DMV Rollers have been invited to participate in the second Annual DMV Baltimore Hyperloop Tour (a/k/a/ Maryland Fellowship Ride). This unified event is hosted and sponsored by individual team members from PHASE, Spartans and Team Tiny. The distance is 68 miles, with a challenging 3,200 feet of climbing. The Meetup location is the Greenbelt Aquatic & Fitness Center, and the time is 7:30 AM, roll at 8:00 AM. A $20 contribution is required to cover the cost of SAG, snacks and drinks.

Fellow cyclist, please come join us once again for the 2nd Annual DMV Baltimore Hyperloop Tour (a/k/a/ Maryland Fellowship Ride) on August 24th, 2019

Hosted by Unified Cyclists, this spirited bike tour from DC area (Greenbelt Aquatic & Fitness Center [parking lot]) to Baltimore (Federal Hill Park) and back will surely give you a renewed appreciation of the beautiful terrain and camaraderie of your fellow cyclists. Category riders "A," "B," and "C" are encouraged to come join us but please know that this is a self-supported ride and all riders should be self sufficient & have the ability to maintain pace. The United Cyclist will have SAG vehicles to support your riding efforts and will provide snacks & liquid refreshments along the route and at the designated rest stops. In addition, food will be provided after you return from the ride. To support this event, were asking for a $20 contribution. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity.

We will meet on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and leave no later than 8:00 a.m. from Greenbelt Aquatic & Fitness Center, which is next to Greenbelt Recreation Center & Municipal Building (25 Crescent Road), across from New Deal Cafe in the Roosevelt Shopping Center. Note, this location is historic Greenbelt: 25 Crescent Road at the intersection of Southway located at 101 Center Way & Crescent Road (Roosevelt Shopping Center: Historic Greenbelt). We expect the ride to be completed and route closed no later than 3:00 p.m. Total miles is a mere 65, little over a metric century

PRE-RIDE CHECKLIST

· Properly fitting and adjusted helmet
· Cycling gloves
· Protective cycling eyeglasses
· Spare tubes
· CO2 cartridges and/or bicycle pump, tire levers, patch kit
· Operational safety lights
· Water bottle(s)
· Food: bars, gels, fruit, etc.
· Identification (such as Road ID)
· Emergency money
· Do a quick test of your bike to ensure that it’s in proper working order. In particular, make sure that brakes are working and that “quick release” wheels are properly secured.e
