Learn more and sign up here: https://dnkpresents.com/event/big-south-fork-womens-backpacking-2/ Join us for this beginner friendly Women’s Backpacking Adventure in The Big South Fork Recreation Area in Oneida, Tennessee! We will begin the trip on Friday at 2pm and finish by Sunday 12pm-ish. The entire weekend will be about 11 miles. Friday night we will backpack in to Charit Creek and be at a beautiful primitive site along the creek, about a 2 mile hike in. The next day we will hike along Charit Creek Trail, set up camp along the beautiful creek again, then day hike to breathtaking Slave Falls and incredible rock shelters, and caves along the trail. Sunday morning we will wake up and hike back up to see the Twin Arches and then to the trailhead. This trip you will learn the basics of backpacking including how to filter water, read a map, cook in the backcountry, hang food – we will be in bear country so this is super important here! and have an amazing time in an absolutely beautiful part of the country. Join us for an awesome hike at Southwest Way Park in Indianapolis, IN. We will meet at the parking lot at the trailhead, do introductions, and then hit the trails! Dress for the weather, bring water, snacks, etc. if you need and enjoy meeting other wild wilderness women to connect with. The hike will be led by DNK Presents guide Candice Baggett, learn more about Candice here. We hope to see you there! The Wild Women’s Hike series is a program dedicated to getting more women and girls feeling comfortable and confident in the outdoors. We feel diversity is a competitive advantage and in order to create change for women and girls in the outdoors we need allies to support this. Therefore men or those who identify as gender fluid or gender neutral are welcome to attend these events. ♥
