More "Safe People" and group time

  • Second Baptist Church

6109 Chicago Ave, Lubbock, TX (map)

    33.537766 -101.932091

  • Tonight we'll view and discuss Session 7 of the "Safe People" video-book-discussion series with Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend.

How did I pick the person/people that caused me so much pain? Why am I attracted to people who are so bad for me? Who are safe and unsafe people for me? Am I a safe person myself? You'll get answers to these questions and more from this great series.

While supplies last, we will have copies of the "Safe People" book available for purchase at our meetings.

We gather each week from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. After a brief introduction, we see a video (or at other times of the year, hear from a live speaker) until about 8:00. Then after an overview of our program and some introductions and announcements, we take a short break and go into smaller groups at about 8:15 for the remainder of the meeting. We have a special group for newcomers and visitors, support groups, and discussion groups.

We welcome anyone and everyone dealing with relationship challenges, separation or divorce, whether happening now, in the past, or perhaps approaching. People of any faith background, or without one, are welcome.

Child care is available during our meetings for infants through Grade 5, and is provided by experienced, professional chid care workers. Contact Judy at the church for more information or to make a reservation (by 5:00 pm on Monday, please). There is no charge for this service.

There are no fees or membership requirements for this program. You do not have to have a Meetup account to attend. If you do have a free Meetup account and join our Meetup group, you'll get automatic reminder messages about our meetings and other news you may need. It would be great if you'd click "Yes" if you're coming to this and future meetings. That makes our group more visible on Meetup, and encourages others to come.

This group and others like it are backed by the non-profit Divorce and Relationship Recovery Network, which is also working to establish and support more much-needed Divorce and Relationship Recovery programs.

We do not charge for our meetings, but donations to our cause are greatly appreciated. You can set up online gifts, either one-time or recurring, to support this work. Join the mailing list (separate from this Meetup group) to stay informed.
