• DUG: Let's write secure Drupal code!

Dropsolid - The Digital Business Company

Join our speaker Balazs (https://www.drupal.org/u/tatarbj), CTO of Petend (http://www.drupal.org/petend) and Provisional Member of the Drupal Security Team in this journey through the Drupal Security landscape. In his session, he'll show the most common vulnerabilities that your Drupal code can have and how we should be prepared to avoid such insecure code to be released. He'll also speak about what we should do if we found any vulnerabilities on contributed solutions. As we all love automated tests, He'll present some tools that can test your applications from a security perspective. Get excited to play Drupal Vulnerability Bingo and learn how to develop Drupal sites in a secure fashion Be ready for some showcases where we'll check Drupal 7 and 8 codes that have vulnerabilities and will fix them in live coding exercises! Dropsolid will provide drinks and snacks.

  • DUG: Lando, docker and kubernetes

Calibrate | Web agency | Antwerpen, Gent, Leuven

Session 1: Containerizing your Drupal site on Kubernetes and deploying it the blue/green way - Nils Peeters --- During this talk, we'll be going over on how you can update your Drupal code on Kubernetes using blue-green deployments. First off, we'll go into what "blue/green deployments" actually are and how we can realize this easier than ever using the power of containers. Furthermore, deploying blue/green has many advantages, like deploying with barely (if any) downtime, but also a couple of disadvantages and pitfalls. We will cover all this good stuff by going over our story so far of becoming a dedicated hosting company with a starting focus on Drupal. I'll talk about the dangers and issues we faced while deploying normally on our old infrastructure and how we tackled these in our new environment on Kubernetes. Session 2: Setting up a no-ops project using lando, gitlab and platform.sh. - Levi Govaerts --- At the beginning of a project; do you still spend hours in order to get your DevOps flow ready? It's time for a change. During this session I will cover following topics: * Tell you more about Lando: how it works and why it's cool * Explain GitLab pipelines and why you should make use of them * How you can easily spin up extra environments * Improving the quality of your project If you are not using GitLab or Platform.sh, this will still be interesting as these are just example services. • DUG: Component based decoupled Drupal
